Beethoven’s anniversary year of 2020 saw a planned cycle of complete Beethoven Concertos with the Prometheus Orchestra under conductor Edmond Fivet.
Fortunately the first four were performed over a single weekend in February 2020 before the Covid lockdown struck. The ‘Emperor’ Concerto, due to be performed in October 2020 at Snape Maltings, has now been rescheduled to February 2022. Click here for more details of this event.
Sadly during the lockdown the founder and music director of Prometheus Orchestra, Edmond Fivet, passed away after a short illness. He will be replaced for the final concert by Matthew Andrews.
Power, vulnerability and a sense of spontaneous invention are essential for great Beethoven performances and Nathan had all of these, combined in something that was beautiful, elegant, heartfelt and thrilling… It was a total joy to hear Nathan’s subtle, touching and yet thoroughly grand performance.
